The Annual Respect for Life from the Catholic Churches of Port Clinton and Marblehead, Ohio (ICSJ) Immaculate Conception and St Joseph, held their annual fundraiser September 1, 2021. Archpriest Andrew Bartek of Holy Assumption Orthodox Church, Marblehead, Ohio is the Orthodox Representative.
On Sunday, November 12, 2017 Father Andrew and the faithful of Holy Assumption Orthodox Church held a service to honor the veterans of both the parish and the United States.
Those veterans of the parish were asked to stand. The first photo shows Mr. Joe Rose holds the American Flag while Veterans, Bill Glovinsky, David Linder, David Martin, Ron Royhab and Matthew Adamcio stand.
It was a solemn and poignant time, though much appreciated by all who attended. Thank you to those in the Armed Forces who have served our country. May God bless you all.
Christ is Baptized in the Jordan! And we with Him!
Saturday, January 12, 2019 was an awesome for the community of Marblehead, Ohio! Father Andrew Bartek, rector of Holy Assumption Orthodox Church and parishioners hosted the first annual Blessing of Lake Erie. Despite the cold and windy day, about 50 people attended, coming from Cleveland, Fremont, Toledo, Lorain, Port Clinton, Marblehead and beyond.
Thanks to a generous donor, attendees were able to stand under cover while the Lake Blessing happened. About 30 people took advantage of the generous spread of hot food and drinks provided by the parishioners in the parish social hall following the blessing.
This occasion provided an opportunity to share the Orthodox Faith and teachings with those who were not familiar with the Church. The Blessing was a feature article in the Port Clinton Herald, which can be found here.
As Father Andrew said, “Today we bore witness to the Faith of Orthodoxy and Our God!” Glory to Him!
After serving as rector at Holy Assumption Orthodox Church and being actively involved in the Village of Marblehead for over 5 years, Father Andrew Bartek is being transferred to St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church in Campbell, Ohio effective December 1, 2022. Following Divine Liturgy today we honored Father Andrew with a lenten potluck. The Marblehead community also hosted a well-attended farewell party on Sunday, November 20. With love and gratitude, we pray that God will continue to bless Father Andrew with many years as he continues his ministry in Campbell.
